Riptide - Leader of Ocean Force

Riptide is the leader of Ocean Force. When Smolder (John Stone) first announced that he was thinking of putting together a branch group of the Guardians of Los Angeles for beach patrol to compliment his traffic patrol, Riptide was the first in the door.

Riptide expressed his frustration to Smolder that, though he could do a lot, he had been working the beach for a long time and he'd gladly sign on just to get some help!

As such, Riptide became the first member on the spot and then they conducted interviews of unattached members of the OSG (Official Superheroes Guild). What they got wasn't what they expected. Some would call them the dregs of the OSG community, but what Smolder and Riptide found out was that no Empowered ability was completely useless if one had some imagination. As such, Ocean Force lead by the serious leader Riptide has made a major impact on the beaches of Los Angeles in ways never imagined.

Riptide is a serious Empowered Superhero with strength, agility and toughness and able to go toe to toe with some pretty powerful beings. Also, as his name indicates, he has some affinity for the water and can be very helpful if a victim is drowning as one example. Although Riptide leads with a serious mind, he allows for his teams...less than conventional...attitudes as long as they get the job done.
